Don’t be sad that summer is gone, be happy that autumn is here! There is much to be said for days out on the water in autumn, even winter. Yes, you may need to add a few more layers of clothing but it is so worth it. Here’s our top 3 reasons why…
1. Ideal boating conditions
Boating in Autumn often delivers stunning conditions throughout the Solent. Choose the right day and you will find yourself gliding across a perfectly still millpond with blue skies and a crisp air that is sure to take your breath away.
A stop off in any of the marina choices throughout the Solent and you are never far from a crackling open fire and a warming drink. It doesn’t get much better than that.
2. Less people afloat
You will find the Solent significantly quieter throughout the autumn and winter months and that’s no bad thing. It can be the ideal time to explore different destinations and brush up on those navigational or parking skills without the hustle and bustle of other boaters.
We even offer complimentary refresher courses to all our members on their RYA Powerboat training, with autumn/winter being an ideal time to pencil one in the diary. Why not check out the calendar to see what we have coming up…
3. Variety of boats
One of the many great things about Boat Club Trafalgar is the variety of boat choices. Autumn and winter are great time of year to familiarise yourself across the fleet.
Why not find a peaceful spot in one of the many stunning anchorages across the Solent and enjoy a day afloat on family favourite Maia, our multi-use cabin cruiser.
You could even make the most of those fresh early mornings with the built-in cabin heater on Calypso, our Merry Fisher 795 Marlin – perfect for a fishing trip with friends.
What’s in the Boat Club calendar this autumn/winter…
From breakfast trips over to the island to winter socials and skills workshops – we’ve dropped loads of fun things to look forward to in the coming months. Head to the calendar to see what’s coming up.

Our boat club concept is based on boat sharing, also known as ‘membership boating’.
Quite simply, it’s a club where the fleet of boats are available for use by its members as often as they like and the members don’t have to own a boat. They just pay one, simple monthly amount and no joining fee.
Why not get in touch for a free Boat Club taster session?
We’ll jump aboard one of the fleet boats and head out for some sea air, answering any questions you may have about membership boating along the way.
