There are plenty of ways to build on and improve your power boating skills. It’s true for all types of boating that you never stop learning. With the combination of boats, navigation, weather, tides and the environment, there’s always something to learn. We offer plenty of ways for you to gain experience and confidence and make the most of spending more time out afloat.
Getting started after training
Our Solent Discovery Guided Trips are an excellent opportunity to find your way around the Solent, if it’s new to you.
Our trained guides escort you to a selection of beautiful bays, and venues, with a break for lunch. They are on hand to help with navigation into the Solent’s stunning harbours and rivers. See where we are heading next over at our events calendar.
Additional training
We run occasional navigation skills evenings for our members, and other occasional skill building events.
You can also book additional training at the Trafalgar Powerboat Training School. Our RYA training center holds regular training course including RYA Intermediate Powerboat Training and the RYA VHF (SRC marine radio) course.
